Ann Sheldon and her son Rick donated the property for the Sheldon Nature Center in memory of Richard Sheldon, husband to Ann and father to Rick.

Sheldon Nature Center
To the right is the roof line of Oakwood Elementary School.  The below right white rectangle is the dedication ceremony tent.  To the bottom and left is the Sheldon Nature Center.  As of 2004, a new education center has been added in the clearing to the left of the trees that are center bottom in the picture.  A picture of the center will be forthcoming!

The Entrance to an Environmental Education!
This was what the entrance looked like before the new road went in.  The aerial picture above shows you a good sense of what the grounds look like today.  Volunteers from the community are constantly adding to, improving and monitoring the activities and evolution of the Sheldon Nature Center!
